First Vietnamese university recognized with AUN-QA standards, version 3.0

After more than one month of evaluation by reputable experts, on July 22, 2024, the Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network announced that LHU has become the first university in Southeast Asia in general and in Vietnam in particular recognized to meet the AUN-QA standards, version 3.0. Thus, in regards to educational institutions meeting the AUN-QA standards, as of July 2024, LHU becomes the ninth one in Southeast Asia and fourth in Vietnam to achieve this recognition after VNU Hanoi University of Science (2017); VNUHCM University of Technology (2017); and VNUHCM International University (2018).

"Quality" - LHU's target strategy 

For LHU, implementing quality accreditation is no longer a task required by the Education Law and management agencies but has become one of its strategic goals through stages. Therefore, from 2018 up to now, LHU has continuously achieved prestigious accreditation, specifically Certificates of Institutional Accreditation (cycle 1 and cycle 2) according to the MOET's standards; 10 training programs meeting the AUN-QA standards; 2 training programs accredited by ABET (American-based Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology); and now meeting the AUN-QA standards at Institutional Level.

By winning these recognitions, LHU has affirmed its great efforts and determination in building a comprehensive and extensive internal quality assurance system, while demonstrating its commitment and transparency in quality and continuous improvement in all aspects of training, scientific research, and community service.

LHU's Rankings

LHU is proud to be one of Vietnam's 13 leading universities named in the THE Impact Rankings. This is a clear testament to LHU's commitment to implementing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is the only global ranking that measures the success of educational institutions in realizing the UN's SDGs. The THE issues annual Impact Rankings based on four key areas: research; stewardship; outreach; and teaching.

Earlier, LHU was named in the World University Rankings for Innovation (The WURI) by the Hanseatic League of Universities - HLU. The WURI ranking provides a global assessment based on openness, diversity and outstanding achievements in innovative research and applications.

LHU ranked 5th in the top 50 universities supporting the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Fourth Industrial Revolution) according to the WURI 2023. It ranked 74th in the top 100 most innovative universities compared to 2022’s rank of 85th (raising 11 places) (Global Top 100 Innavative Universities). It was placed 97th in 2021. Within this ranking, LHU also ranked 39th in the top 50 universities supporting the Industrial Application (moving up 7 notches from rank 46 in 2022) (Industrial Application).

As an application-oriented university, in the 2024-2025 academic year, LHU offers students 32 bachelor's, 8 master's, and 2 doctoral programs with a wide range of fields: economics, languages, engineering, health,...

Becoming the first university in Vietnam to meet the AUN-QA standards, version 3.0; especially listed in WIRI and THE Rankings will help promote LHU's development in all aspects, enhance faculty and student exchanges with other schools in the region, contributing to creating generations of global citizens.
