With the mission of training high-quality human resources serving the country's industrialization and modernization process, LHU on December 23 morning, 2024 proudly launched the Semiconductor Lab, a project that not only represents a breakthrough in academia but also marks a significant step forward in bridging the education - industry.
The solemn inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh - Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang - Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee; along with leaders of various departments and agencies; representatives of the Board of Directors of universities and colleges in Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City and LHU's strategic partners in the semiconductor sector.
At the event, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh emphasized the importance of the semiconductor industry to technological advancement and highly praised LHU's proactive investment and international collaboration in enhancing the quality of education and scientific research.
As the first Semiconductor Lab in Dong Nai, it also marks an important milestone in training high-quality human resources to serve the national and local semiconductor industry. The Lab was invested with total capital of more than 6.7 billion VND, featuring state-of-the-art equipment including Synopsys's HAPS 100 KIT - the most advanced hardware simulation technology right now, a synchronized computer system and professional microchip design software. The Lab will enable students to directly access modern semiconductor production technologies, enhance their practical skills, and better prepare for their future careers.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Rector of LHU Lam Thanh Hien stated the Lab will serve as not only a place for training students but also a collaborative and experimental space for research and technology among universities and businesses. By leading in investment and technology transfer, LHU aims to become a leading center for semiconductor training and research in the Southeast region.
With the launch of its Semiconductor Lab, LHU not only enhances its training quality and contributes to the growth of the semiconductor industry but also reaffirms its strategic vision and pioneering role in developing high-tech fields in the Dong Nai region. This milestone highlights LHU's commitment to sustainable development by aligning with SDG4 and SDG8 in fostering high-quality human resources for southern Vietnam and beyond. Furthermore, by advancing SDG7, SDG9, and SDG11-17 through strategic partnerships and cutting-edge investments, LHU establishes itself as a leader in innovation, environmental stewardship, and global collaboration, paving the way for a sustainable future.
